HOPE OF GLORY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH! 

We are glad that you have interest in our church membership. If you are looking for a church to settle in order to grow more in the knowledge of Christ and in His Grace and Faith, we pray that we may be the right church for you and your family. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to join us as an official member of our church rather than staying as a guest.

WHAT IS THE CHURCH MEMBERSHIP?

Church is not a club or a social agency. ‘Church’ is not the building. It is the family of God. It refers to the community of believers, the members in the body of Christ. (1 Cor.12:12, Eph 2:19-22)  Members are the Church! And Jesus works through the Church.(Eph 2:10)  It is very important to be connected to the body of Christ in Christianity. If you are not a member of a local church, then you are separated from mutual-maturity, care, accountability, and protection of the local church. However, Church Covenantal Membership is not like other memberships. It is not consumer-oriented; focusing only on receiving benefits from the organization. Church membership exists to minister, guard, care for, support, and serve each other to build up the Church of Christ.  Therefore, Church Membership is a commitment to one another. It is about making a public and official ‘COVENANT’. So we call this ‘Covenant Membership’ as an affirmation of commitment to this church.

So then you are no longer strangers and aliens,

but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 
[Ephesians 2:19]  

 

Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.

WHY SHOULD I BE A MEMBER?

  • You have access to participate in the Church’s General Assembly and all congregational meetings.

  • You have the right to vote.

  • You have access to different pastoral cares [i.e. Home/Hospital visitation, wedding, funeral, family/personal counseling, etc; priorities above non-members]

  • You have access to participate and receive Communion. [We limit the participation of the communion to baptized/confirmed members of our church for the sake of the Church Order]

  • You can request infant baptism or confirmation for your children.

  • You can request the use of the church facilities for special occasions. [Wedding, Baby’s 1st Birthday, etc. based on availability]

  • Small Group Ministry

  • Volunteer services [Church School, Ministry teams, etc.]

  • And more….

HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER?

​Becoming a member involves a five steps process. Please join our 4-week membership class to learn about the Christian Belief, our church and become a member of our church by making the covenantal commitment!  [Baptism, if necessary]
